I worked as crew on Southern Theatre Productions in early 70's while at school including Hello Dolly, Showboat, Sound of Music & Half a Sixpence and my friendship with a fellow backstage crew member Mike Andrew continues til today. My sister was in ballet corp for Nutcracker and Dick Emery show in this time. One of my wife and my earliest dates was the Elton John concert at Gaumont.
It was part of my childhood and gave us our love of Theatre which has been a part of lives ever since. Although we don't live in Southampton we still go to the Mayflower for occasional productions.
