My Story Memory: Barry Mould remembers being given tickets by Tommy Steele to his show
1959
When I was about 16 (1959y Steel) I went to work at the Polygon Hotel as a commis waiter. One evening I waited on Tommy Steele who was staying there. He was starring at the Gaumont Theatre and after his meal we chatted. He asked if I had a young lady and I said yes then he gave me a pair of tickets for his show at the theatre. We sat in the front row of the balcony and really enjoyed the show. Since then we (my old lady now) have been to see him in the marvellous show Scrooge at the Mayflower.
The local live shows are so important for all ages and we have access to the big London shows. We have never been disappointed in all the wonderful shows we have seen there over the years.
