(Not sure of the year) I worked as a sceneshifter for the Pantomime (Ray Abbott? was the stage manager, I believe). It gave me an insight into the predicaments that could arise backstage when - for instance - I was left to support a very high piece of scenery whilst Marty Wilde sung a song because we had run out of weights to use. [Mayflower Theatre is] Easily accessible.
